I've got a two-dimensional mind to go with my MPB, too. If my food's behind something in the fridge, and I can't see it, it doesn't exist.
And hey, there's nothing wrong with the lobster tank. The more they're moving, the better odds of a fight. My kid loves watching 'em too!
