This is why we stop talking w/ elected officials... they turn into morons when you ask simple questions.
It's a great tactic which frustrates people into stopping their full court press.

This reminds me of a clip I heard recently where someone (I can't recall who, someone in Washington that sounds like Sylvester the Cat) spent more time explaining why he couldn't go over the alloted time than it would've taken to answer the freakin' question.
